It is possible to configure automatic incrementation of the customer code using the following configuration points:
The following are only selectable in the “Default” scope of the settings. This means that the parameters will apply to all companies by default:
- Activate the automatic generation of the Client code: this property can be enabled/disabled. Enabling this property does not block the modification of the customer code entry but simply proposes by default an automatically incremented customer code.
The system automatically increments the customer code based on the last recorded number:
If I start at ...00001, the system will automatically propose the next customer code at ...00002.
If I start at ...00003, the system will automatically propose the next customer code at ...00004.
Etc...
The automatic incrementation of the customer code follows these rules:
- Common incrementation between prospects and customers.
- In the case of a multi-company environment, the incrementation is common across different companies.
- Prohibit manual entry of a customer code: this property can be enabled/disabled. Note, this setting point is only activatable if the automatic generation of the customer code has been previously enabled.
This parameter prevents the modification of the customer code. It will be automatically generated and incremented by the system:
There are also two configuration points specific to each company:
These allow for further customization of the customer code according to the needs of each entity.
- Customer code length: this property allows you to specify the length of the customer code. In case of exceeding this length, there is no blockage in the generation of the customer code.
- Customer code prefix: this property allows you to define a prefix before the incrementation of the customer code.
Changing the prefix and length of the customer code will not impact the automatic incrementation of the customer code.
